Another nice evenings flyabout at bridgend.
Another nice evenings flyabout at bridgend.
After over a month without flying I was keen to get out and get my feet of the ground. Gerald felt the same so we arranged to meet up at bridgend about 6.30pm and take a look.
The forecast hinted at a bit of a see breeze and charterhall (via xc weather semi confirmed it was happening) so we thought that bridgend would be worth a look. In my case I would have been happy with a fly down.
The forecast suggested it might be worth a look at bridgend for some evening flying. The intention was for a walk up and a fly about then fly down so not looking for anything special.
Tim and Barry got to the hill first closely followed by Stephen and Jamie. It was windier than expected.
Where to start, the weekend forecast was for a WNW/NW airflow across Scotland and after a short flight with Logan at the Moorfoots on Saturday when it was really a 'how do I get down' day decisions were slow on Sunday.
Met up with Tommy, Dudley & Chris at the bottom of Fastheugh. Got a lift to the top in the Disco. The wind was N - NNE at Lauder when I left. The same when we got to the top of Fastheugh so we decided to risk it. It was obviously unstable, but the seabreeze was not obvious.
