Bridgend - 2nd May 2014
After a busy week it looked like there might be a chance of a sneaky wee fly at bridgend after work.
Where and when we've been flying
After a busy week it looked like there might be a chance of a sneaky wee fly at bridgend after work.
Easter Friday. no work. and it looked sort of flyable in a high pressure light wind kind of way. work has been a tad busy and due to other commitments over the weekend I was not weather watching as much as I have in the past.
After Wingbeat members trying to fly various sites on Good Friday and plans to head to the Aberdeen round of the Scottish Nationals on Saturday it seemed as though all options had been covered for the Easter weekend. However a late change of time and venue for the Nationals and a quick look at RASP suggested that staying local may be a better option...but where to go??
I arranged to meet Colin heading up from the South with the intention of flying in the lakes. It was tricky forecast though, starting of NE and going round through S to SW. None of them ideal.
The rest of the family had decided to head up to Edinburgh today so I tagged on and was dropped of at the Moorfoots.
Cliffs car was there so I knew he was around somewhere...Graham Saunders appeared and we walked in to the take off together.
Yesterday on Broughton was was a bit stable but still usable, everybody that was there went home a little bit sharper.
An interesting day at broughton. The forecast last week was for an epic looking day today.
Lots of discussion about XC flights and where to go on the group. Bodesbeck looked ideal based on rasp but the logistics of it (moffat - selkirk road closed for repair till the start of april) put us off.
