After a bit of a windy horrible day on Tinto yesterday, the forecast was looking a bit nicer for today. Lighter winds from the N - NE and sunshine. After the usual discussion it was decided to head for Bridgeend early afternoon for a bit of soaring. No one was really up for anything very exciting.
I headed up around lunch time and met up with John from the lakes. It was looking near perfect when I got there so we just headed up the hill. It was good on takeoff, but there was some reasonably convergence right over us. I tried a small flight and it felt convergence like. A bit stop go, up down so I landed to wait for it to mellow a bit. In the meantime Samyeling Chris, Tommy and Dudley had arrived.

The main convergence passed through after about 10 min and we were left with more stable, I assume sea air. There were still nice thermals in it though with a line of cloud just to our west. The thermals kind of cycled all day and you could climb up to about half way to base before they died. I left with John in one of the better cycles to try and get to loch skene, but bailed to the Cafe for tea and cake when it looked like it would die.

After that I walked back to the hill and up again for another hour or so's messing about. It was still pleasantly flyable when we left. Most memorable thing about the day was trying some wagga on the Carrera. It has a lot of energy retention and I can do things with it I would not have been able to on previous wings. A very successful day for everyone there.
