Sat morning and feeling good, an easy lazy morning for me. The windy day was forecast to drop away in the afternoon, and it did. A short drive round to our usual N/E site Bridend. Derek Traynor our newest member was already setting up on top and was flying around nicely on his Sigma 8 just as Tim and myself were getting near the top after a determined walk up...good effort Tim.
It was always going to drop away so no time wasted and airborne as soon as possible. Mainly dynamic to start with but after 10 min or so thermals were coming through regular.....not a ripping day by anyones standards but I like to work for it, and it was very pleasant cruising about with Derek and Tim.
After an hour it was dropping off, and it really dropped to very light by the time Rob, Dave Lyal Gerald and Jamie arrived...everyone had a great catch up, Gerald just loves being out, and he was just loving being back on top of Bridgend reliving his epic convergence flight last year when he finally managed to get down at 10pm one evening.
A fly down for everyone at the end... very nice, warm and just great to be alive on such a wonderful day.
Tommy.
