Flying:
Interesting site that is best flown when wind is generally coming out of the west.
Both sides of the obvious bowl can be flown and XC's are possible to Selkirk and into the Tweed Valley towards Kelso.
General track is to follow the Yarrow Valley east utilising thermals from Newark Hill and Foulshiels heading for Selkirk and then into the Tweed Valley
Hazards:
Check NOTAM, CANP essential if flying mid week since this area is used for low flying exercises by military fast jets.
Bottom landing area at base of hill is small and narrow and may be turbulent in strong W winds.
If in doubt head south along the B709 to land in the Yarrow Valley.
Notes:
DO NOT use during lambing season - late March to late May.
